Cagayan de Oro's Kumbira 2014

The activities of Kumbira 2014 were opened on August 13, 2014 at the atrium of Lim ket Kai center with the honorable Mayor Oscar Moreno as the guest of honor. The three-day event is held until August 15. It is one of the core events of the city’s fiesta which precede the celebration on August 28, the feast day of Saint Augustine, the patron saint of Cagayan de Oro. Kumbira which means feast or banquet in English is the longest running culinary show in the Philippines. This year’s theme for the event is “Throwback at 18: Looking back… Cooking Forward”.  Kumbira 2014 activities include exhibits, seminars and competitions which are participated in by students, chefs and guests and by business establishments and other institutions such as restaurants, bakeries, schools and food manufacturing companies. Organizers of the different activities of Kumbira 2014 are the Cagayan de Oro Hotel and Restaurant Association (COHARA) and the Department of Tourism.
